With proper care and treatment, natural teeth should last a lifetime. At Dr. Tosun Dental Clinic, we aim to preserve and save natural teeth whenever possible.

However, in some cases, an extraction may be unavoidable, possibly due to: severe decay, trauma, or infection. Extraction may also be necessary for orthodontic space creation.

Modern dentistry has made the whole procedure of tooth extraction almost painless and our team ensure a calm and gentle process.

Wisdom teeth are the third and last molars erupting in late teens or early twenties. Most people do not have room in their mouth to accommodate them and this can lead to pain or infection, so removal is recommended.

A sinus lift is surgery that adds bone to your upper jaw in your molars and premolars. The bone is added between your jaw and the maxillary sinuses.

This procedure become common in the last 15 years as more and more people choose dental implants to replace missing teeth.

If you are having dental implants to be placed and there is not adequate bone surrounding the sinus you may require a sinus lift.

Bone loss can be caused by many factors the main being tooth loss and gum disease. If teeth have been missing for a long time, there often is not enough bone left to place implants, gum disease (periodontal disease) is a multi-factorial disease caused by bacterial growth and production of factors that gradually destroy the tissue surrounding and supporting the teeth, this can result in bone loss. Gum disease can be treated, and gum health maintained by seeing our hygienist regularly.

Dental Implant Placement

Losing a tooth has more implications than purely as a cosmetic issue. Apart from feeling self-conscious, if not treated a missing tooth gap can lead to permanent damage as adjacent teeth can move and so the lips and cheek may lose their support causing a sunken appearance. Dental implants are an ideal solution to replace missing teeth.
